TIPS FOR BETTER GETTING READY WEDDING PHOTOS.

1. GETTING READY LOCATION IS IMPORTANT
Getting ready for your wedding location is a very important aspect for photographers. You plan your wedding day for months (even years!). You have to decide what will be the best location for your ceremony, reception, first dance, and your epic exit. You’ve spent countless hours on Pinterest, pinning the “best of the best” photos of everything from your cake to flowers and wedding dress. But there is one thing that is very important for your wedding day and I’m not even sure whether it crossed your mind…your “getting ready” room.

2. SIZE MATTERS
Believe me, I’ve seen it many times…I walk into these super dark hotel rooms, where six bridesmaids, mom, and flower girls are all desperate for space because the room is not big enough. However, the worst thing that a photographer can experience is that the room is DARK. Naturally, if you are not a photographer, you don’t understand that a camera needs a lot of light…and nothing can beat the beauty of natural light.

3.NATURAL LIGHT
Have you ever thought about why all of those photos on Pinterest are so beautiful? It’s a good photographer and great light. So, if you are planning your wedding day, please do not forget about your “getting ready” rooms. Think about the windows, natural light and also the size of the room. Hotel rooms often don’t provide lots of good light. If you are looking for an alternative to a hotel room, I would recommend to try to find a cute, well-lit airbnb apartment.

Window light is one of my favorite source of light. I love to take a few photos of the bride and groom in their rooms. The bride’s makeup is fresh, her hair is perfect and the anticipation to see her future husband looks great in photos. So, don’t overlook the importance of a room with great natural light.

Your photographer and makeup artist will thank you.
